Project-Based Learning Summit
Date: June 30 - July 2, 2025
Location: Bavarian Inn - Frankenmuth, MI
Join MiSTEM Regions 10 & 11 for a three-day workshop diving into the principles of Project-Based Learning. As a PBL cohort member you will deepen your understanding of project-based learning and the impact it can have on student learning & engagement.
Engaging Students with Desmos
Date: August 12, 2025
Location: Huron Area Tech Center - Bad Axe, MI
The Desmos platform is a free digital platform that allows math teachers to engage and interact with their students through the use of calculators and activities. With Desmos now being the embedded calculator on the digital P/SAT test and AP tests, student and teacher familiarity is important for preparing students for testing.
In this workshop, teachers will explore the Desmos platform and the following topics: Desmos Intro & new features, best practices for testing, teacher facilitation and strategies, custom activities, exploring the geometry tool, and polygraph (linear systems).

No computer science experience is needed! The professional learning series will allow you to explore the curriculum with learning tools, practice new teaching strategies, discuss classroom management, and be a part of a community of teachers
